EXHAUST SYSTEMS
ACCORDING TO
CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS
To Design Your New Exhaust
System, We Come To Your Shipyard And Carry Out
Necessary On Site Inspections
Our technicians are willing to
travel all over the world to reach shipyards and
so examine the arrangement for installation on
boats, meet naval architects and engineers to
decide the most effective layout and examine together
to create a new exhaust system that will achieve
required results.
 In
order to help solve any exhaust noise problems
you have, whether it's a matter of reducing the
noise created by a large generator installed on
large yachts, which runs all night with no disturbance
to guests on deck, or a matter of producing an
exhaust system on a passenger vessel with low
noise levels at a commercial price,
can really assist you. We can come directly to
your shipyards or cooperate with you by e-mail,
fax or telephone, to achieve together the results
you need and expect to obtain.
THE USE OF GRP AS A MATERIAL
IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF SILENCERS
uses Glass-Reinforced Plastic as the main material
in components used in the wet sections of marine
exhaust systems. The use of special resins helps
to ensure the manufacturing
of products that are resistant to operating temperatures
and GRP avoids corrosion
caused by the presence of agents.
Most of GRP components
are made in our workshops using the “Filament
Winding Technology” technique, an aircraft
borrowed technology, consisting in winding of
continuous glass filament impregnated with resin
around a rotating spindle driven by a computer
aided control system (CAM). These components are
then assembled by craftsmen with many years’
experience and who are skilled in the lamination
of these composite materials, to finally obtain
the finished product ready to be fitted in the
most reliable and profitable way.
AISI 316L STAINLESS
STEEL (EN 1.4432) FOR THE PRODUCTION OF WATER
INJECTION ELBOW, EXHAUST THRU HULLS, DRY AND WET
IN LINE SILENCERS, CONTRACTION/EXPANSION JOINTS,
PIPES, BENDS, FLANGES AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS.
Naturally,
systems produced to the customer’s order
adopt either GRP or AISI
316L stainles (EN 1.4432) depending on their destined
use and the function of the component to be ma nufactured.
uses first-class AISI 316L stainless steel to
manufacture those units that, due to their function
or their location inside an exhaust system, cannot
be produced in GRP, for
example, risers, exhaust pipes with flanged connections,
contraction/expansion joints and silencers for
dry exhaust systems, exhaust outlets with check
valve (thru hulls flapps steelers) and many other
components.
SILENCERS

can also produce silencers in many different shapes
to Customer specifications. Most of our energy
is aimed at solving specific requirements for
individual boats. Each silencer that is produced
to order is manufactured by a team of high skilled
craftsmen, who always work according to UNI EN
ISO 9001 regulations for Total Quality Management.
Special care is also taken with the correct assembly
of the various components, and also with the correct
angle and sizes, according to agreements between
technicians and the Customer, in order to obtain
perfect insertion of the silencer in the available
space. The position of the inlet and outlet pipes
is carefully evaluated and maintained, in order
to achieve perfect connection to the engine and
the rest of the system. Naturally, each individual
silencer produced is pressure tested to check
perfect gas and water tightness, before being
finished with a fire retardant gel-coating.
GAS/WATER SEPARATORS
develops and produces gas/water separators in
GRP, for marine power generators and engines installed
by its Customers, which are state-of-the-art in
this sector. Water separators from
represent the best solution to permanently eliminate
sploshing noise caused by the overboard drop of
cooling water from exhaust gases. This advanced
technique allows the cooling water mixed with
the exhaust gases to be completely removed, once
it has done its cooling and silencing job, and
to discharge it silently
below the waterline through an underwater outlet
placed under the hull.
also produces, at the customers’ request,
GRP silencers combined
with separators, particularly designed for large
power units. These combined silencer separators
are so efficient, that the dry gases can even
silently exit up the funnel, achieving noise levels
which are really inaudible against normal backgrounds.
EXHAUST COOLING
WATER INJECTION SYSTEMS
Obtaining efficient and effective
cooling of combustion gases by mixing them with
water injected into special water jacketed exhaust
elbows is an art. These special water spray manifolds
must provide cooling of exhaust gases at full
power but still be effective at low revs, when
the cooling water pump flow is reduced. produces
both AISI 316L stainless steel (EN 1.4432)
"high risers" for simple installations
on pleasure boats, and very complex and sophisticated
structures which must then be installed and accurately
positioned straight into position on crafts even
thousands of miles away from our head offices.
Each exhaust system is the product of the experience
and collaboration of our team of technicians
that works in harness with our Customers. |
